Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse with experience in Teenage & Young Adult (TYA) cancer to help shape the future of cancer services for young people across the East of England (EoE).
The Children’s and TYA Cancer (CTYAc) Operational Delivery Network (ODN) is seeking to appoint a senior team member to support the Network in delivering the NHSE service specifications for TYA cancer; Clinical Engagement Lead.
The EoE CTYAc ODN aims to improve the experiences and outcomes for children and young people with cancer. The post holder will work closely with the Children’s cancer ODN Lead nurse and will form part of the CTYAc ODN senior leadership team. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Teenage Cancer Trust Lead TYA Nurse and the ODN Children’s Lead Nurse as well as nurses and AHPs at hospitals across the region.
This is an exciting opportunity offered as a fixed term or secondment to lead on improving pathways of care across the East of England for TYA patients affected by cancer. The post holder will work closely with patients, commissioners, regional providers other stakeholders and clinical networks to ensure access to high quality, equitable and sustainable care for young people with cancer across the East of England.

Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the senior management team of the Children, Teenagers and Young Adults (CTYA) Operational Delivery Network (ODN).
You will work to improve services for TYA patients across the East of England.
You will be knowledgeable and a credible expert within TYA cancer in order to engage meaningfully with local teams across the region.
You will be a great communicator and be able to navigate sometimes challenging issues.
You will lead on patient engagement activities, ensuring the patient voice is central to any service improvement work.

- RN Adult
- Masters level qualification in relevant subject or equivalent professional experience working with young people
- Post registration module in oncology
- Evidence of professional continuous development and portfolio of learning
- Leadership or management module
- Teaching and assessing qualification
