The Transplant Specialist Support team at CUH are pivotal in ensuring abdominal transplant patients continue to receive world class care. The team are looking for an expert practitioner to support the psychological and social wellbeing of transplant patients at all stages of their transplant journey through CUH. 

If you have a background in mental health nursing or psychological/social support of patients with complex needs and are passionate about making a real difference for patients with end stage organ failure then this could be the job for you.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for providing psychological and social support for transplant patients at Cambridge University Hospitals.

The post holder is a recognised expert in the specialty, responsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff. This includes the provision of specialist education and training for other staff and students.

Responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care.

Required to undertake research and lead clinical audits in own specialist area.

Essential criteria
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse educated to Degree level or willingness to undertake or equivalent experience.
  • Post registration qualification in speciality.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Advanced communication skills/counselling qualification or willingness to undertake.
Desirable criteria
  • Research Module
  • Masters Degree

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant relevant experience in the Specialty and ability to demonstrate expert nursing skills.
