East of England Neurosurgery Network Specialist Nurse/AHP

Band 7

Job overview

The East of England Neurosurgery Network (EoE NN) is hosted by Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) and is the region’s sole Neurosurgery Clinical Network. It was launched in October 2023, and it operates under the motto “Collaborating in Cranial Excellence”. Its triple aim is to improve quality, reduce inequalities, and to improve value of neurosurgical management across the eastern region.

We are advertising this 12-month post within the 2026/7 financial year; offered to either nursing or AHP colleagues. The position is full-time (37.5 hours/week); hybrid working is encouraged, with reasonable occasional travel expenses provided. We strongly encourage secondment applicants from across the East of England.

As East of England Neurosurgery Network Specialist Nurse/AHP, you will join a team of colleagues committed to quality improvement of cranial neurosurgery across the eastern region. The post holder will receive formal training in project management, via PRINCE2 accreditation (PRINCE2 with Agile Foundation +/- Practitioner). To encourage clinical development, we will facilitate appropriate clinical experience in neurosurgery.

Main duties of the job

In collaboration with the EoE NN team, you will select two of the 2026/7 workstreams that best suit your experience:

- Clinical pathways (focus on traumatic brain injury, TBI)

- Neurorehabilitation (scoping regional solutions)

- Patient engagement (utilising a co-design approach)

- Supra-regional MDT (initially relevant to mild TBI)

- Training (neurosurgical education for non-specialists).

Supported by the EoE NN Manager, the post holder will also contribute to the regional repatriation workstream.

These posts represent a unique opportunity for mid-career nurse/AHP to take an active role in a regional funded quality improvement initiative (EoE NN), whilst also further developing clinical skills across relevant sub-specialties of neurosurgery.

We welcome pre-application discussions with prospective candidates and encouraged all interested colleagues to join our webinar (12.30pm on Thurs 30th April 2026) to learn more about the EoE NN and the offered roles.

Contact the EoE NN Manager by email for joining details, to access the recording, or to arrange an individual discussion ([email protected])
