As a tertiary paediatric centre, Addenbrooke’s provides exposure to a wide range of specialist and sub-specialist services across both medical and surgical paediatrics, including trauma and regional neurosurgical care. Qualifications
Essential criteria
- RN (Child) educated to Degree level or equivalent.
- Teaching and assessing qualification or PgCert.
- Post registration qualification in speciality.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Advanced communication skills/counselling qualification or willingness to undertake.
Desirable criteria
- Advanced clinical assessment
- Post registration study relevant to post / enrolled in Masters programme
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant relevant experience in the Specialty and ability to demonstrate expert nursing skills.
- Accept personal accountability for own practice.
- Experience of formal/informal teaching.
- Experience of initiating change.
- Experience in leading a team or in routinely coordinating a shift on a children’s ward.
Desirable criteria
- Experience working on both a medical and a surgical ward
- Experience in managing a change in clinical practice
- NHS experience
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of evidence-based practice.
- Understanding of Clinical Governance.
- Understanding of patient pathway, its complexities and how to support the patient through this.
