Clinical Nurse Specialist ENRICH (Prostrate Cancer)

Job overview
A wonderful pilot opportunity has arisen in the Cancer Directorate which focuses on strengthening the community assessment for men with non-specific lower urinary tract symptoms or marginally raised PSA. The pilot will look at how to reduce over-investigation and related anxiety in men, and will focus the resources on patients who are at high-risk detection of prostate cancer in early stages and will majorly benefit from treatment.
We are inviting applications from ambitious experienced Nurses who are interested to enhance their experience, to join existing prostate cancer nursing team to support the project- ENRICH (ENhanced triaging in prostate Cancer patHway) for a 3 year period. This will give an opportunity to enhance the experience in prostate cancer care as well as career progression.
You will have opportunity to work at the Addenbrooke's site as well as our outreach clinics. You will be leasing with Primary care team and creating a collaborative working strategy to meet the project aims. You will be working closely with Prostate cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist team and sharing the responsibilities across the prostate cancer pathway.
You will demonstrate a high degree of knowledge of Prostate cancer care, proficiency in patient assessment and be able to have skilled and sensitive conversations. You will provide clinical leadership, influencing others to provide the highest levels of safe and effective care and a positive patient experience.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is a recognised expert in Prostate Cancer, responsible for assessing, Supporting and implementing ENRICH Project.
Responsible for providing nurse-led Prostate cancer clinic on site and outreach settings.
Required to undertake diagnostic investigations in Prostate pathway.
Responsible for developing collaborative network with primary care team.
Responsible for project follow up clinics.

- Registered Nurse educated to Degree level or willingness to undertake
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Teaching qualification.
- Bladder scanning competency.
- Advanced communication skills

- Post registration qualification in Urology.
Experience

- Significant relevant experience Prostate cancer and ability to demonstrate expert nursing skills.

- Experience of initiating change
