As a Senior Communication Skills Tutor within the Undergraduate Medical Education Programme, you will play a key role in the design, delivery, and enhancement of clinical communication training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in partnership with the University of Cambridge. You will lead on the development and coordination of educational training packs, ensuring they remain current and aligned with evolving curricular needs. Working closely with academic leads, facilitators, and administrative teams, you will manage all stages of content creation and support logistical setup for in-person and virtual learning environments.

In this multifaceted role, you will deliver specialist communication teaching, support the training and calibration of simulated patients, and oversee the recruitment and development of clinical communication facilitators. You’ll provide targeted student support—including remediation and tailored sessions for neurodiverse and ESL learners—and contribute significantly to the delivery and quality assurance of clinical communication examinations. Additionally, you’ll engage in research, audit, and national forums to maintain expertise, and represent the Trust regionally and nationally. The role includes line management responsibilities and requires a deep commitment to evidence-based practice and the continuous improvement of communication education in clinical settings.
