Job overview

Working as an autonomous practitioner devise, implement and follow up specialist  treatments across the disease spectrum for patients within a specific group. To be a  skilled practitioner providing expert clinical care using an extensive theoretical  knowledge base and practical experience to underpin the role, while acting as a role model for the delivery of expert care. To deliver specialist educational programmes to a range of healthcare professionals in relation to the specific disease, including medical, nursing and Allied Health Professional staff.
To lead research and audit within given specialty internally and externally to the UHB.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Parkinson's Team at the University Hospital of Llandough. 

 We are looking for a forward thinking individual with strong leadership skills, to join a team of established Clinical Nurse Specialists,  therapist, clinicians. The successful applicant will be motivated to develop an in depth knowledge of Parkinson’s and Parkinson’s related conditions.

The Parkinson’s nurse is responsible for supporting people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones from diagnosis to the complex/palliative stage. Whist previous experience is desirable we are seeking someone with a passion to develop our service with the support of the team.

The successful applicant will posses excellent communication skills and be confident in talking to patients and their families. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
