Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Respiratory Nurse to join the community Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist team in Pembrokeshire. We are looking for an experienced registered nurse with a high level of clinical skills and theoretical knowledge in respiratory nursing. 

Main duties of the job

The role will support the delivery clinical nurse respiratory services across the Pembrokeshire county and the wider Health Board system. This includes working across both primary, community and acute settings to ensure seamless, high-quality care for patients with respiratory conditions. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to enhance service integration and patient outcomes. The post holder will play a key role in strengthening respiratory nursing capacity and ensuring continuity of care across the system.

The respiratory nursing team provide specialist nursing knowledge and skills for people diagnosed with respiratory conditions. They provide multidisciplinary care planning and care interventions designed to reduce hospital admissions, with the ultimate aim of improving patient outcomes. The team work closely with respiratory consultants, multi-professional respiratory colleagues, primary care, and community based nursing teams/services.

Excellent verbal/written communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.

We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

  • Demonstrable experience of caring for patients with respiratory problems in acute and clinic settings
