Providing an adult in patient daily Phlebotomy service to the wards within the Division of Medicine and Emergency Care within the Hospital.

Training will be given to the successful candidate.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Visiting each ward within the division during shift time and obtaining the requested bloods from the in patients within the DMEC wards.

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred but not essential as onsite training will be provided.
  • Have previous experience working with the general public on a one to one basis.
  • Be able to work within safe systems of
Desirable criteria
  • Onsite training under initial supervision provided.
  • Competencies assessed.
  • Development in post once full

SKILLS

Essential criteria
  • Have good manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills.
  • An ability to work accurately and maintain high standards of documentation.
Desirable criteria
  • Skills test will include: Labelling Bottle
  • Development in post throughout training.
  • Development in post once full knowledge and practical skills gained.
