The trust has invested in a new Frail Elderly Assessment Unit (FEAU). This is an exciting opportunity for Qualified Nurses to join our team. 

The Unit consists of 8 beds and 6 chairs. FEAU is for patients that are frail and elderly who present to the Emergency Department, patients will be assessed comprehensively by the whole of the multi disciplinary team to perform a comprehensive geriatric assessment. The aim of FEAU is to assess, treat and discharge patients back to their own home/Placement of Care within 48hrs to reduce the length of stay in hospital for our frail and elderly patients. We provide frail and elderly patients with rapid access to investigations and treatment without the need for hospital admission. 

We are looking for an experienced health care professional competent in all aspects of care planning, who is able to carry out a wide range of clinical skills, including area(s) of specialist clinical expertise and advice within the team, by working collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.  The post holder will also take an active part in the leadership, education, development, and supervision of the team.

We are a friendly and enthusiastic team and have strong working relationships with the multidisciplinary team, it is important you are confident in communicating and working collaboratively within a team .

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond.

The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.
