Our Clinical Psychology Service lies within the Wigan & Leigh Borough, which is part of the North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation trust. The Trust provides specialist services for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities, together with a range of other specialist services.
A vacancy has arisen within the Specialist Psychology Service in the Wigan Borough of the North West Boroughs Foundation NHS Trust for a clinical manager experienced in delivering PBS approaches in the community. The team is currently established at 8 qualified psychologists with a Consultant Psychologist lead working across the Borough into the learning disability , Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pain management , cardiac care and Neurorehabilitation.
The post holder would be responsible for the day to day management of the service and the management supervision of staff as well as taking a lead role in the conjoined approach of PBS across the specialities and supporting the team in complex referral around this. Work includes direct intervention, consultation work, carer and staff training and working with and across multi-disciplinary teams and systems. The successful post holder should have good interpersonal skills, experience of working with complex relational issues and individuals with a Learning disability and or Autism. Experience of teaching and training staff groups would also be beneficial.
The post holders will have opportunities for CPD and self-development activities, with participation in departmental presentations and meetings and networking with colleagues throughout the service and across the Borough. As well as built in time and support for CDP activity.
This post is subject to an enhanced check with adults barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Successful candidates will either have a valid DBS check with the Trust or will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £47.50 for an enhanced disclosure , the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
