Are you an experienced Emergency Care Practitioner looking for a new opportunity? We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 ECP to join our friendly Emergency Department team.

Our newly refurbished ED provides a modern environment for high-quality care. The ECP service operates from 8:00am to 11:00pm, providing assessment and management of patients presenting with minor injuries and appropriate minor illness.

About the role

You will provide autonomous assessment and management of patients within your scope of practice, working closely with the wider ED multidisciplinary team to provide safe and timely care.

We are looking for clinicians who are motivated, approachable and committed to developing their practice, with a passion for excellent patient care.

You will be supported by our senior clinical team and dedicated Training and Development Nurse, with opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills within Emergency Care.

• Provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients presenting with minor injuries and appropriate minor illness.
• Undertake clinical examination and investigations, including requesting and interpreting diagnostics within scope of practice.
• Develop treatment plans, including prescribing and medication management where appropriately qualified.
• Recognise patients requiring escalation, referral or onward management.
• Provide safe discharge, including advice, safety-netting and follow-up.
• Work closely with the ED multidisciplinary team to support safe and effective patient flow.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and high standards of patient safety, dignity and experience.
• Support the department to reduce waiting times and achieve the 4-hour emergency care standard.
• Contribute to audit, quality improvement, governance and service development.
• Provide clinical leadership, acting as a positive role model and supporting colleagues and learners.
• Participate in teaching, supervision and professional development.
• Maintain clinical competence through training, education, reflection and continuing professional development.
• Work flexibly across the 8:00am–11:00pm Minor Injury service
