Job overview
The post is central to the delivery of research in the Trust, and to support local services to deliver research projects which are included on the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio. You will lead on trials and support all activity for specific research studies, from assessing feasibility, facilitation of set up through to completion and close down of studies. You will be responsible for the recruitment and follow up of service users to research studies. The role will involve undertaking study related procedures as appropriate and the assessment, planning and on-going care of research participants throughout the duration of the study. Your workload will cover different specialties and may vary depending on the need on the department.
The post will build experience into research governance, delivery and process which leads to evidence-based practice is a great addition to your career and strengthens communication, organisational skills and multidisciplinary work.
Hours per week: 22.5

Main duties of the job
Please be advised we are unable to provide Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship to non-UK residents.
The post holder will ensure the safe and effective management of patients throughout their research journey. They will support colleagues in the effective management of patients recruited to research within an inpatient or outpatient setting. They will work with clinical investigators and sponsor companies to assist in the management of trial protocols. They will ensure data collection is to its highest standards, facilitating the production of good quality research with a commitment to adhering to time and target requirements. The post holder will be required to support research studies across various specialties and sites within East Cheshire NHS Trust as the service need dictates.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) Registered Nurse
- Evidence of continuous professional development and additional specialist training
Desirable criteria
- Good Clinical Practice certificate
- Mentorship training
- Advanced communication qualifications
- Evidence of Consent training
- Degree in healthcare subject or research related subject
Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of ICH-Good Clinical Practice regulations relating to clinical research
- Understanding of clinical research delivery
- Analyses problems and implements effective and appropriate solutions
- Working knowledge of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
- Motivated and able to motivate others
- Ability to apply evidence-based practice
- Good Information Technology skills (with Microsoft office applications)
Desirable criteria
- A good understanding of current issues relating to the NHS
- Knowledge of Research Governance, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) & the principals of Good Clinical Practice
