The Division of Women's and Children's are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Gynaecology Risk and Governance Team in the role of Gynaecology Clinical Governance Advisor, embedding and continuously improving the quality of the services we provide and safeguarding high standards of care for our patients and staff, within the delivery of the Clinical Governance Agenda.
Applicants will need to be motivated, enthusiastic and demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills .

The candidate must have a clinical professional registration and an understanding of Gynaecology services. They will be expected to work in collaboration with Divisional staff groups both clinical and nonclinical and interface with other Clinical Governance Advisors and Multidisciplinary Teams across University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) Trust.
 The successful candidate will work closely with the Divisional Clinical Governance Facilitator in delivering all aspects of The Trust Risk Management Strategy supporting UHDB in the implementation, review, and ongoing monitoring of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework.

Main duties of the job

The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with the Risk and Governance team  on all areas of responsibility, escalating appropriately to the Divisional Clinical Governance Facilitator any areas of outstanding concern.
This will include support, training and staff liaison with respect to Incident Reporting/Duty of Candour and Risk Management, ensuring that risks and action plans are reviewed within relevant timeframes and reported on and escalated at relevant meetings.

Also, regular monitoring of incidents to ensure that they are reviewed, investigated, and graded correctly in line with relevant Trust Policies; together with supervising staff to undertake risk assessments and assist in maintaining the Divisional Risk Register which will be an integral part of their role and formation of Quality Improvement initiatives.
