Job overview

We are seeking a Bank Senior Urgent Care Practitioner with a  professional registration of NMC or HCPC.

The post holder will be a clinical expert in direct patient care including the assessment, examination, documentation, prescription, implementation and evaluation of care and appropriate discharge of patients including adults and children, presenting with undifferentiated diagnosis both minor injuries and illness. 

Main duties of the job

The units are nurse and paramedic practitioner led and is operational 7 days a week, from 08:00-20:45.

You will be required to be a clinical expert in direct patient care including the assessment, examination, documentation, prescription, implementation and evaluation of care and appropriate discharge of patients including adults and children, presenting with undifferentiated diagnosis both minor injuries and illness.

You will need to engage effectively with patients, peer groups, and service users in all elements of your role, leading by example and promoting a supportive and caring culture.

You must be flexible, enthusiastic, motivated and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Completion of university MSc non-medical prescribing
  • Successful completion of minor injury module
  • Successful completion of APACS/CDM
  • Successful completion of Core Principles of Paediatrics in Primary Care and the Acute Sector, or to complete in 12 months
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within an urgent care setting
  • Teaching qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience as a senior practitioner
  • Experience of working within an urgent care/emergency care/primary care setting
  • Experience of working autonomously
