Job overview

Clinical nurse specialist in palliative care. The role includes both clinical support for patients and their significant others. The role is also integral to Palliative and End of life Education, this includes preparing and delivering education to fellow health care professional across the ICO to all teams.

When appointed into the Band 6 role, you  be able to demonstrate autonomous practice, working with the wider team and the Lead /Senior SPC CNS. 

 

Main duties of the job

  • Working in a team of specialist nurses, consultants and admin support. 
  • Supporting patients, families carers and staff within the acute hospital setting with symptom control and at the end of life.
  • Promoting privacy, comfort and dignity.
  • The role includes both clinical work and delivering education to improve and enhance quality, support, knowledge and understanding of palliative and end of life care to fellow health care professional within the hospital and community settings.
