We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.

We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public. The services are spread over a wide geographical area of around 3,600 square miles, which includes coastal, rural and industrial areas.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Mental Health Nurses within the Tees, Esk & Wear Valleys Older Persons Mental Health Inpatient service based at initially at Acomb Garth inpatient team then at Meadowfields inpatient team. 

Initially the post will be within the male dementia ward but the teams are due to merge in the Summer and the newly merged team will be based at Meadowfields and have a combination of male and female dementia beds with an occupancy of 18 beds. .

We will support you by offering regular supervision, training opportunities and encourage your development and role within this developing team on the delivery of Patient Centred Care, support for carers and evidence based practice. 

The successful applicant will be expected to work shifts covering 24/7 days and nights and public holidays.
