Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to expand our workforce across our Intermediate Care Services at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. These cover Bexhill Irvine Rehabilitation Unit a 54 bedded unit, Rye Memorial Care Centre a 19 bedded unit and Milton Grange with 27 beds. The Irvine Unit is supported by 2 ward based Doctors and a consultant, while Rye Memorial and Milton Grange are supported by local GP’s. We deliver excellent patient care in a challenging and motivational workplace. Our aim is to maximise patient care using all resources available, reducing the length of stay and maintain patient flow. We achieve this by holding a daily board round encompassing all multi-disciplinary teams to establish the needs of the patient, management plans and safe discharges. We provide care and rehabilitation for a wide range of medical conditions to include Stroke, Orthopaedic and general medicine.

The ESHT Rehabilitation strategy is focused on improving the quality and performance of our acute and community services to deliver high quality rehabilitation across East Sussex. This is a dynamic and changing environment, and the strategy is working to support our staff, teams and the organisation as a whole to make meaningful changes that bring about improvements in rehabilitation for the benefit of our population.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse with good interpersonal skills who works well in a team environment.  You will need to be able to work in a dynamic and adaptive way. We work closely with the university of Brighton and offer placements for nursing students while also supporting overseas nurses. We are committed to professional development of all our staff.
