The children's operating theatre at The Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton is seeking a highly motivated perioperative practitioner to help support the delivery of elective and emergency children's and neonatal surgery.

This band 5 post provides an excellent opportunity for a qualified nurse or ODP to gain further experience, or an ideal opportunity for newly qualified staff in children's and neonatal perioperative practice.

The Royal Alexandra Children's hospital has three busy theatres with stunning views over the English Channel that cover a range of specialties including general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, ENT, maxilla-facial, dental, opthalmics, and trauma and orthopaedics. We have dedicated trauma lists and provide 24 hour CEPOD cover.

The service is currently covered from Monday to Friday with an on-call rota for weekday evenings overnight and all weekend and Bank holidays, but there is an intension to introduce shift patterns next year. There is an on-call commitment and when competent to do so you must be able to attend without reliance on public transport.

In return for providing a high standard of care to our patients and forming excellent multi-disciplinary working relationships you can expect to work within a friendly and expanding department where we are committed to continuous professional development of all our staff. You will be supported by your line manager in developing your career pathway in perioperative practice through on -going support and access to learning and development opportunities.
