Job overview

We are looking for a deputy sister/charge nurse who are dynamic, passionate, and have a  strong drive to provide excellent patient care.

We are seeking an enthusiastic nurse with extensive surgical experience  that will provide leadership and contribute to positive culture of the team.

As a senior nurse, we expect a high level of resilience in an ever changing and challenging situation. We value innovation and critical thinking which is in keeping with our Patient First approach.

Main duties of the job

You will assist the ward manager with the daily operational management. 

The post holder will provide nursing leadership with extensive clinical skills within this area and assisting with the development and maintenance of training plans for staff that facilitate achievement of a high quality effective nursing service. The responsibilities are in mixed speciality environment where the key relationships are wide ranging and include both clinical and administrative disciplines.

The post holder will be expected to work in a consistent and cohesive manner, working to the same patient focused agenda.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds, and any role-specific criteria.

  • Able to effectively co-ordinate a shift on the ward whilst maintaining relationships with the MDT
  • Able to manage the ward on a shift basis.
  • Ability to deputise for the ward manager in their absence and attend relevant meetings when askes/necessary
  • Demonstrate skills to manage and plan care for a group of patient with acute needs
  • Knowledge and experience in pre-operative clinic environment
  • Work with PALS and ensures that concerns are addressed in a timely manner
