Specialist Nurse Childrens Bladder and Bowel Service

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust provides NHS hospital and community services throughout East Sussex. We provide our services at two district general hospitals, Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne District General Hospital, community hospitals in Bexhill, Crowborough, Lewes, Rye and Uckfield and a number of clinics and health centres, GP surgeries, schools and in people’s homes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Paediatric Specialist bladder and bowel nurse to join our Community Children bladder and bowel team.

The Bladder and Bowel team provides care for children with continence issues in both acute and community settings from the age of 4-19.

The post holder will be a key member of the team, working as a role model and inspiring staff and the families/ children to achieve the best possible outcome in regards to continence. As part of the role you will be organising and running clinics alongside planning your patients care. It will also include running training sessions at schools, homes and other health care settings, the teaching sessions would include subjects like catheter management and rectal washouts.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated and passionate about delivering high quality care. The post holder will need to have a flexible approach, excellent communication skills and able to work well as part of a team. The post holder will need to have a least two years acute paediatric experience and a willingness to undertake training in the management of bladder and bowel dysfunction.
