Job overview

This is  a great opportunity to join a busy and developing haematology cancer service. You will be well supported by the haematology Multi disciplinary team as we build the expert Nurse / Clinical Practitioner service. You will be required to work in a team of Nurse / Clinical Practitioner Specialists across both Eastbourne and Hastings.

The role entails supporting cancer patients throughout their pathway from referral to treatment.

You will be empathetic and able to deal with competing demands on your time. You will be flexible and analytical in your practice.

As the post holder you will be joining a team of  Nurse / Clinical Practitioners and a wider team of allied health care professionals.

Main duties of the job

An opportunity to join our Haematology Cancer Nurse / Clinical Practitioner team. 

You will be willing to explore the extend role of the post with the opportunity to deliver care autonomously and within an outpatient setting. 

An interest and understanding of cancer patient care and working autonomously is essential.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse/Professional and hold active registration with relevant Professional body
  • Degree level qualification relevant to role
  • Evidence of continuous personal, professional and academic development to Masters level or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Post Graduate qualification at Masters level relevant to role to demonstrate specialist clinical and leadership skills
  • Managerial or Leadership qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Advanced Clinical Practice modules at Masters level (Physical Assessment, Prescribing)
  • Project management/Quality improvement qualification
  • Restorative supervision/Professional Nurse Advocate qualification
  • Education/Training qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience in area of specialist knowledge and expertise
  • Demonstrate experience of:- Quality/Service improvement Project Management Leadership People Management
