Job overview

Eastbourne District General Hospital has a busy thriving Endoscopy unit. We have a new state of the art JAG accredited purpose built department which provides Endoscopy procedures to inpatient and outpatients under taking both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. We work closely with our clinicians to provide a patient focused service.

This exciting opportunity has risen for  highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker to join our innovative team. Our evolving department offers a superb Endoscopy specific training programme. The successful applicant will have a six week supernumerary/induction plan. We are committed to providing staff with learning and development opportunities to support their career progression.

 

Main duties of the job

The Endoscopy Clinical Support Worker (Band 3) is a member of the care team who will support Registered Practitioner in the delivery of patient care. The Clinical Support Worker will undertake a broad range of care activity and be responsible for providing this care without direct supervision of a Registered Practitioner. The Clinical Support Worker will have care activity delegated to them by Registered Practitioner and where relevant an Associate Practitioner. 
The Clinical Support Worker will have developed or be expected to develop against agreed service requirements, training and competence associated with a specific Scope

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths
  • Care Certificate
Desirable criteria
  • 5 GCSE grade 4 or C and above or equivalent
  • Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc
  • Education and training to NVQ level 3/Work based diploma or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience of working in Health or Social Care Environment delivering personal care
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant experience working in the NHS
