An opportunity has become available for a Peri-Operative Support worker to join the Cardiac and Thoracic Theatres at Castle Hill Hospital, The core purpose of the role of Peri-operative support worker is to support and assist the registered practitioner and Theatre team to deliver high standards of Intra operative care to all patients. Working within the Operating theatres, transfer areas and recovery.
Main duties of the job
This will Include assisting with patient cares, cleaning and servicing of equipment, stock and equipment monitoring, preparation of the theatre environment, transporting patients and equipment too and from the department, clerical duties and completion of electronic records.
You will contribute to the effective communication between members of the multi-disciplinary team, you will work directly with, Peri Operative practitioners, Anaesthetists and Surgeons and report directly to Charge ODP/Nurse and Matron.

Education
Essential criteria
- Maths and English GCSE or above
Desirable criteria
- Care Certificate, NVQ level 2 in care or equivalent.
- IT qualification
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience (through placements or employment) of working in a busy environment providing personal care
Desirable criteria
- Experience of using IT based systems and maintaining patient records.
- Previous working experience in a hospital setting
Communication
Essential criteria
- Works well with in a team
