Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Acute Medical Unit at Basildon Hospital is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join our dedicated and supportive team. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will maintain the highest standards of nursing practice, ensuring safe, effective and person‑centred care at all times. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, working collaboratively with colleagues across all healthcare professions to support positive patient outcomes. Promoting harmonious working relationships and upholding safe working practices will be central to your role.

Main duties of the job

 To clinically give and receive the patient centred handovers.

Ensuring that all drug administration in accordance with Legal and Trust Directorate Policies and procedures, assist with safe Custody, storage and Control of all drugs at ward level.

Ensuring that the discharge planning process starts on admissions to prevent delays and make good utilisation of Unit beds.
