Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Have you got experience with children and hold an NNEB or NVQ level 3 equivalent qualification , are you looking for a new challenge? Come and join our team at Basildon Hospital Paediatrics as a Band 4 Associate Practitioner .
The Band 4 Associate Practitioner is an exciting role, you will be taught vital skills such as care of a tracheostomy tube, venipuncture, cannulation, NG feeding and tube placement and much more.
You will work along side the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of high standards of care to children and young people who present with medical and complex needs.

Main duties of the job
If successful you will support and training will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for specified children and young people in hospital, according to their individual needs and as part of a care plan and ensure that the care is fully documented.
You will work with the team flexibly across the children's unit to create a caring and safe environment for children, young people and their families.
You will learn how to assess and recognise clinical deterioration in patients and report to the nurse/doctor in charge of their care by means of monitoring and recording the patient’s condition, using the following means, following teaching and assessment of competence.
Provide and deliver care with skills applicable to our patient case load.
Work alongside the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of high standards of specific care, maintaining cleanliness/asepsis, meeting the nutritional needs of patients and undertaking a range of skills to nurse care activities identified as appropriate by the senior nursing staff and within a defined competency framework.
Independently perform invasive and non-invasive minor procedures at an advanced level.
