Main duties of the job

You will deliver warm, confident and effective communication to patients, colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team, helping create a positive and supportive atmosphere. A key part of the role involves chaperoning scans and ensuring every patient enjoys an excellent experience throughout their journey. You will actively demonstrate Trust values in your daily work and contribute to regular team meetings.

Patient safety and comfort are at the heart of this role. You’ll support individuals before, during and after procedures, paying particular attention to oxygen requirements and individual care needs. Under the supervision of Registered Nurses, you will assist with clinical procedures and monitor, record and report any changes in patient condition as directed. As your skills grow, you will confidently complete essential documentation such as observations and care records.

You will play an important part in infection prevention by following Trust policies and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Keeping up-to-date with local and Trust procedures is essential. The role also includes undertaking stock rotation and deep cleaning to ensure the department runs efficiently.

You will act as a professional role model when supporting junior staff, demonstrating positive behaviours and strong teamwork. Good IT skills are important, as you will use clinical systems and raise clinical incident reports when required.
