Job overview

Our Chemotherapy Day Unit is seeking enthusiastic experienced  Chemotherapy Nurse Practitioners  or Chemotherapy Trainees  to join it's dedicated multi-disciplinary chemotherapy team and work in our purpose built 20 chair unit  at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.

As our Chemotherapy Nurse Practitioners you will be chemotherapy competent and have considerable experience of caring for patients undergoing chemotherapy in team a solid tumour and/or haematology setting and predominantly you will be caring for patients receiving chemotherapy and supportive care and responsible for the mentoring, support and development of trainee chemotherapy nurses.

If you are an experienced RN and wish to be a chemotherapy trainee with  a view to progressing to  become a Chemotherapy  Nurse Practitioner then the team can provide you with the necessary environment and support to enable you to succeed. 

Above all we are looking for experienced nurses with passion and drive who demonstrate specialist clinical expertise and professional knowledge in the delivery of chemotherapy/ SACT and are committed to maintaining and improving care for patients and their families who are undergoing chemotherapy/SACT.

Main duties of the job

We are able to offer you academic opportunities to study relevant cancer/chemotherapy related courses that will contribute towards your professional development and enhance your clinical practice .

Your role will be to support the delivery of the outpatient chemotherapy service with in providing comprehensive nursing support for patients undergoing chemotherapy and supportive care in line with the broad aims  of Improving Outcomes Guidance for the delivery of chemotherapy services.

Are you an  experienced cancer nurses with passion and drive who demonstrate specialist clinical expertise and professional knowledge in the delivery of chemotherapy/ SACT then we want to hear from you.

If however you are not chemotherapy competent, but are willing to train, and you have previous RN experience then please apply to be considered  for a band 5 trainee position. Once competencies achieved you will automatically progress to a band  6.
