Do you want to be part of a dynamic and complex Division leading on the patient safety and quality portfolio within Surgery and Gastroenterology? Do you want to take the next step in your career? If so this could be the role for you. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join our division in a senior clinical position as Matron within our Surgery, Gastroenterology and Anaesthetics division.

The Division is split into three Clinical Delivery Groups: General Surgery and Gastroenterology; Theatres and Anaesthetics; Vascular and Urology. You will have a matron portfolio within General Surgery and Gastroenterology. 

We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and passionate individual with proven leadership experience who has the energy to support and coach staff to ensure best practice across services. You will be an exceptional communicator, problem solver and able to build positive and effective relationships. You will lead by example, motivate and empower the team as well as be passionate about staff well-being.

We will support you in developing your portfolio so that you can lead on quality priorities within the division and represent the division in Trust wide forums. You will be involved in projects, service development and redesign.

Please note, you will be required to work cross site between Colchester and Ipswich Hospital.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

You will work as an integral member of the management team to lead the development and delivery of service provision within the Division; with a strong focus on patient safety and improving patient experience.

As Matron, you will work closely with the Clinical Director, Clinical Leads, General Manager and Matrons to support the delivery of clinical quality, operational and financial objectives. 

You will provide cross-site based managerial, professional and clinical leadership to nursing and support staff, ensuring the professional contributions of these staff is maximised to achieve the Trusts objectives and strategic goals in accordance with user needs, and national and local professional standards.

You will line manage the senior nursing staff and support them to develop and lead their own teams, having oversight of the resource management, including budget responsibility.

As Matron you will be accountable for the delivery and monitoring of robust infection control measures through relentless vigilance by ensuring delivery of all aspects of the Infection Control Strategy.

The Matron is responsible and accountable for implementation of robust systems and processes that ensure there is a continuing improvement in the quality of the service provided to patients, safety to staff and visitors to the Trust premises, who may be affected by the work of the Trust.
