Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for  self-motivated and driven individuals to join our Paediatric Ambulatory Unit/Paediatric Emergency team. We are seeking to recruit  friendly, passionate and committed people  who are  registered nurses, with an interest in emergency care to join our children’s Emergency Department (ED) team.

The children’s ED is a fast-paced environment and see approximately 25,000 children and young people every year from across west Essex and East and North Hertfordshire. You will form an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with services locally, regionally and nationally to provide a high standard of patient care and ensure an excellent patient journey through our service and beyond.

Our children’s team continually strive to deliver high quality care and put patients at the centre of everything we do.

Main duties of the job

You will be a Registered Sick Children’s Nurse who is willing to develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic, evidence-based nursing care in the Emergency Care setting.

To be an advocate for children and their families and ensure that they have a positive patient experience.

To demonstrate a professional approach to the role and act in accordance with the trust values and the NMC code of professional conduct.

To ensure professional curiosity and observe the principles of safeguarding children and young people at all times.

To support student nurses, health care support workers and others in providing high quality care for all patients.
