The Band 6 Endoscopy Sister/Charge Nurse is an experienced registered nurse responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within the Endoscopy Unit. The post holder supports the Unit Manager in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of endoscopy services, maintaining compliance with JAG standards, infection prevention, and Trust policies.
They provide visible clinical leadership, coordinating daily clinical activities, managing patient flow and prioritisation, and supporting the delivery of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. As a clinical expert, the post holder offers guidance, mentorship, and support to nurses, healthcare assistants, students, and trainees to promote professional development and uphold high standards of care.
The role includes responsibility for maintaining patient safety, ensuring robust decontamination processes, monitoring quality indicators, and leading and contributing to service improvement initiatives. The post holder works collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient service delivery, an excellent patient experience, and continuous improvement in endoscopy care.

- Support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse with recruitment, retention, performance management, supervision, and development of staff.
- Participate in budgetary awareness, resource management, duty rotas and safe staffing allocation.
-Contribute to Clinical Governance, incident reporting, risk management, and quality improvement.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and well-documented patient records.
- Support patient and public involvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

General Working Conditions
- Comply with manual handling guidelines.
