Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic outpatient HCA[s] to join our existing teams within General Outpatients [GOPD] at CDC. We are looking for HCA’s who as well as having good organisational and people skills and possess a variety of nursing skills.
We are a dedicated and supportive team that provides treatment and care to a wide variety of patients. Our departments are busy, unpredictable environments, where we care for patients attending appointments for a host of different specialties including dermatology, Gynaecology, Rheumatology, Urology, Cardiology, Neurology and many more. A new Community Diagnostic Centre [CDC] has also opened where we host further GOPD clinics for our patients.
Our departments are open Monday to Friday 8am- 6pm. The successful candidate[s] will be expected to work fully rotational across our GOPD sites at Gloucester, Cheltenham and our new Community Diagnostic Centre in Gloucester Quays. (Hospital transport bus available with Park and Ride facilities in Cheltenham).

Main duties of the job
To work as part of the outpatient’s clinical team assisting in the delivery of high-quality services under the supervision of qualified staff. To support all staff with day to day running of services undertaken at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation trust.
To work well with people at all levels and effectively as a team member. To undertake link roles which will assist in the smooth running of the department. Ability to provide a variety of nursing and personal care and contribute to a safe and welcoming environment for staff, patients and visitors. To communicate effectively, especially where patient ability to do so maybe compromised and chaperone where required. To contribute towards a forward thinking, compassionate and inclusive workforce that focuses on an engaging team approach.

The successful candidate[s] will be required to work fully rotational across both sites at Gloucester, Cheltenham and our new Community Diagnostic Centre in Gloucester Quays (Hospital transport bus available with Park and ride facilities in Cheltenham). We actively encourage and support appropriate staff development within their role[s].

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential criteria
- Venepuncture Training
- Basic IT skills appropriate to role
- Ability to work on own initiative at times
- Ability to work well within a team environment, motivated and enthusiastic
- Flexible approach to working
- Good personal and communication skills.
- GCSC maths and English, Grade C and above
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in OPD area desirable
- Previous NHS Experience
