Are you a registered Nurse looking for something totally different? We are looking for a dynamic person to join the Nuclear Medicine team.
We offer portfolio of diagnostic scans, molecular radiotherapy, and research and would love you to join us.
We expect significant growth in the area of Theranostics, our growing molecular radiotherapy service offers Lu177 Dotatate, Lu177 PMSA, Y90 SiRT, Ra223 Xofigo and I131 for benign and malignant disease. We work collaboratively with wider teams to achieve our goal to deliver the best service to our patients, both locally and within the wider Wessex region.
The department was fully refurbished six years ago and has 2 Siemens SPECT CT cameras and a gamma counter. We offer a wide range of diagnostic tests for both paediatric and adult patients.
Experience in Nuclear medicine is not essential as full training will be provided.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Qualified registered nurse.
-
Administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic procedures and therapy in compliance with IRMER legislation.

Perform regular radiation monitoring for radioactive contamination and manage decontamination of radioactive spills.

Work to ensure the radiation safety and protection of all personnel working in the department, in accordance with departmental local rules and legislation.
Shift patterns will be 8:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
- Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
- Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
- Understanding of personal accountability
- Knowledge of own role within the team
- Provide evidence of teaching and supporting learners in practice in the role of practice supervisor
- Awareness of evidence-based practice
