Job overview
Staff Nurses required for Medical SDEC at Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester.
SDEC is an ambulatory unit, accepting direct referrals from Emergency Department and GP, with the aim to see, treat and discharge patients within 12h avoiding medical admission and increasing the patient flow through the Hospital. You will be responsible for the care alongside the ACP team of all patients through the Unit. This will include basic patient's observations, administering IV medications/infusions and helping to organise patient workload through a busy unit, and linking directly with the ACP team and Medical team. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in a different evolving environment.
Full/ part-time / Flexible hours available, 7 days a week.

Main duties of the job
To support the team in the delivery of the service, this includes:
- High standards of Professional Practice to ensure quality and safety of patient care, experience and
the patient journey - Developing own clinical practice, knowledge, skills and experience.
- Acting as a good role model
- Supporting the team in ensuring that clinical services are delivered to a high quality of care and that
all compliance requirements such as CQC and contractual requirements are achieved. - To undertake the comprehensive assessment of patients using investigative and analytical skills
where factors may be conflicting, requiring analysis and interpretation skills and the comparison of
a range of options to achieve effective treatment or discharge planning check - To develop clinically
