The Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage is looking to recruit a enthusiastic and flexible Chemotherapy Nurse.

The LMCC treats both male and female adult patients with a wide variety of systemic anti cancer therapies.

The successful candidate would ideally have some experience of working within oncology and delivery of SACT however full training could be provided to the right candidate. Part time applicants would be considered. Our staff are important to us so you will be given opportunities to develop and also to engage in improving services for patients and staff.

The unit is currently open from 08:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday and we work in partnership with the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre which also provides radiotherapy services.

The LMCC is a purpose built state of the art chemotherapy day unit, we are a small dynamic friendly team and would encourage informal visits.

The Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre :
* Provides double the amount of space currently available to the 220 patients treated each week.

* In the facilities 18 people are able to receive their chemotherapy treatment at any one time, thus reducing waiting times and the need for people to have their treatment at another of the Trust’s hospitals.

* There are two restful and soothing gardens for people with cancer and their families, which have been designed to help improve patients’ response to treatment, as well as provide a welcome environment for accompanying family and friends.

* And finally the centre features clear areas where people can discuss sensitive information about their diagnosis and treatment with clinical and nursing staff.

As part of the interview process you will be required to take a 15 minute drug assessment paper.
