Job overview

Working as a Ward Sister to provide effective patient care whilst working as a member of the nursing team across East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust. To ensure the maintenance of high standards of patient care in response to service needs. 

This is a post consisting of day and night shifts. 

Main duties of the job

Venepuncture, Cannulation, ECG, Verification of Death, IV Drugs and HLS, good Communication skills. Facilitating Staff development and empowerment. Negotiation. The ability to converse at ease with patients, doctors and relatives, and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Nursing
  • NMC
  • Preparation of mentors or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Previous management experience

Clinical Skills and experience

Essential criteria
  • Venepuncture, Cannulation, ECG, Verification of DEath, IV Drugs and HLS.
  • Facilitating staff development and empowerment
  • Negotiation Skills
  • The ability to converse at ease with patients, doctors and relatives and provide advice in accurate spoken English
