 We are recruiting for a Clinical Support Worker - who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for carrying out assigned tasks as part of the clinical team in support of registered nurses, and to undertake some aspects of care provision without direct supervision. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of service users, always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights, through the adoption of persons centred care principles.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Provide excellent customer care skills to ensure patients come first

Undertakes a range of delegated clinical care duties to deliver agreed plans of care, acting on own initiative 

Demonstrate, encourage and assist patients in undertaking therapeutic activities within parameters of agreed care plans and under guidance of registered practitioners

To ensure patients receive high quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and doctrines

Recognise and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individuals

To act as an advocate for patients within the department, to ensure a patient orientated approach to the delivery of care and to meet standards within the NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines

Provides support and assistance to professionals in the implementation of plans of care for individual patients

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of a general education
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy or GCSEs
  • Care Certificate

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of working as a healthcare assistant in a hospital or registered care setting
  • Customer care experience
  • Experience of working on own and in a team

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to follow a clear instruction and feed back to senior staff
  • Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids
  • Completed core skills competencies
  • Ability to project a professional manner and approach
