We are seeking passionate and motivated NMC-registered nurses to join our Emergency Department teams at our Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells sites.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.

Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children).

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics.  The programme is full-time (please email [email protected] if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • First level Registered Nurse with UK Nursing and Midwifery Council registration
  • Practice Supervisor preparation (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • IV Therapy, Venepuncture and Cannulation Training
  • Practice Assessor (or equivalent)
  • Intermediate Life Support Training
  • Central Venous Access Device Training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Up-to-date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice at the level of a newly qualified nurse.
  • Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the NHS.
  • Able to demonstrate adherence to The Code (NMC, 2018).
  • Can define equality, diversity and inclusivity.
Desirable criteria
  • Able to describe audit and quality issues.

  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with staff, patients and relatives, ensuring that communication is tailored to the person being addressed.
