Employer heading
Senior Quality & Safety Manager – MDT Lead for PC & Neighbourhoods
NHS AfC: Band 8b
Job overview
This role supports delivery of the ICB's Four Layers of Care model — the clinical model through which NHS Kent and Medway commissions and provides care across primary care, single neighbourhood, multi-neighbourhood and acute hospital settings.
The post holder will ensure quality, safety and patient experience are embedded consistently as care moves across these layers, in line with the ICB's ambition to shift activity toward proactive, community-based care.
Main duties of the job
•The post holder will manage provider quality assurance and improvement at place and system level for the ICB, from a nominated portfolio, as part of a wider Quality Team.
•The post will take the role of Quality Lead in the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for Urgent and Emergency Care and Flow, which forms part of the foundation of our operating model, by promoting integrated decision-making and shared accountability. Collaboration is central to the way the ICB works across all teams and units, and this role will actively foster and enable effective partnership working across the organisation.
•The post holder will manage a robust process to gain assurance on the quality of the healthcare services, from their allocated work portfolio, commissioned by the ICB.
•The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of a quality assurance and improvement framework, informed by the National Quality Board Quality Risk and Escalation Framework.
•The post holder will ensure the robust application of a comprehensive monitoring framework for measuring and reporting on the quality of healthcare, preparing and overseeing the preparation of both internal and external reports.
Working for our organisation
We are committed to a culture that supports all staff at NHS Kent and Medway to be the best version of themselves.
Our ability to improve outcomes for our population depends on how effectively clinical, operational, financial and strategic professionals work together to make informed commissioning decisions. That’s why our workforce works a minimum of two days-a-week on-site, with the expectation that all one-to-ones are held face-to-face and that colleagues will regularly visit the services we are commissioning to understand more about them.
We believe regular on-site working supports stronger collaboration, faster problem-solving, peer learning, visible leadership and the integration of colleagues into our organisation. We also know that culture is built through shared experiences and day-to-day interactions.
We are a flexible working friendly organisation; we aim to support you to work flexibly in a way that will suit you and us.
We work with staff to agree objectives through regular supervision, annual appraisal and access to training opportunities.
We are committed to equal opportunities and diversity. In order to reflect the diversity of our population, we positively encourage applications from all areas of the community regardless of gender, race, faith, disability, age or sexual orientation.
