Job overview

Please note this role is currently only being advertised to staff members who are currently working within the Kent and Medway ICS. 

The role of the Resuscitation Officer is to save lives.

Resuscitation Officers ensure that at the time of a patient suffering in a cardiac or peri arrest they receive the highest quality care to maximise their chance of surviving.   

You will support the Lead Resuscitation Officer in designing and delivering strategic objectives across the organisation. 

You will be a part of training and educating staff of all levels and specialities.

Main duties of the job

Training and education of all staff in resuscitation related skills.

Design and delivery of resuscitation related training packages.

Investigations of cardiac and peri arrests

Auditing of equipment and cardiac arrest incidents.

Supply and stock control of consumables.

Debriefing.

Responding as part of the cardiac arrest team.

Course directing RC(UK) national courses.

All successful applicants will be required to complete our corporate trust induction once a start date had been agreed.

Following your corporate induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email [email protected]t if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse, Operating Department Practitioner or Registered Paramedic
  • ENB 998 or equivalent teaching qualification with evidence of teaching Resuscitation to multi-disciplinary groups.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum 5 years post qualification (3 years in acute care).
  • Minimum 2 years at Band 6.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Basic and Advanced Life Support including Manual and Automated Defibrillation
  • ALS Provider
