Community Nursery Nurse - NCMP  

Band 4  -   £33,262 - £36,027 Inc HCAS Per annum pro rata

Part-time - 30 hours per week (Term Time Only Hours ) 4 days per week

The post holder will work within the Bromley Primary school Screening team, as part of the Bromley 0-19 service. He/she will be responsible for helping to deliver the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) and Vision Screening to children in Bromley schools.

  • Regular travel between sites will be required.
  • The post holder will liaise with schools and parents, referring to other services when indicated and offering support/brief advice to parents and carers.
  • The post holder will collate data from School Screener and NHS digital software’s and generates result letters and referrals as needed.
  • The post holder will be responsible for submission of NCMP data to Local authority via NHS Digital

Main duties of the job

·        Weigh and measure children in Reception and Year 6 as part of the National Child Measurement Programme.

·        Deliver the vision screening programme to Reception children.

·        Accurately record all measurement data and personal data for screened children, noting absent children and opt-outs.

·        Ensure all paperwork is scanned and data inputted into the relevant spreadsheets/databases/IT systems.

·        Arrange return visits to schools, where children were absent, to maximise the overall screening participation rate.

·        Ensure school and parent questionnaires are distributed and collated.

·        Ensure all scales are calibrated regularly according to the schedule.

·        Respond to queries or concerns from parents, schools and other professionals regarding service delivery in a timely manner.

·        Communicate sensitively to parents and carers regarding screening results.

·        Offer follow up support/brief advice to parents and carers.

·        Signpost or refer to other services according to agreed care pathways.

·        Generates vision results letters through School screener and refers as appropriate

·        Refers consenting children to follow up interventions and collates opt out data

·        Responds to any data indicator queries by Local authority and updates systems as appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Diploma in relevant subject area or equivalent knowledge and experience gained through working in a similar role.
  • Holds Maths and English GCSEs (minimum grade C / 4) or equivalent
