Band 7 Lead Midwife for Preterm Birth and Multiple Pregnancy - 37.5 hours
We are seeking a motivated and experienced NMC Registered Midwife to be the lead midwifery specialist for the preterm birth and multiple pregnancy care provision at Tameside and Glossop NHS Foundation Trust. You will work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with the lead consultant obstetrician and Saving Babies Lives lead midwife. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving care, experience, and outcomes for families accessing these services.
You will be responsible for the provision of safe, individualised, and evidence-based care, advice, and support to those with a multiple pregnancy or at risk of/experiencing preterm birth. You should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the Saving Babies Lives care bundle and a passion for supporting staff, birthing people, and their families to achieve optimal care and outcomes. For this role you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a flexible approach and commitment to work.
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality, safe, and holistic programmes of midwifery care to service users who are at risk of/have experienced pre-term birth (PTB) or who are identified as having a multiple pregnancy.
The lead midwife will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and key stakeholders to enable the implementation and maintenance of the Saving Babies Lives (SBL) care bundle element 5 and strengthen preterm labour/birth and multiple pregnancy pathways, with a key focus on patient safety and reducing inequalities in all aspects of care.
In this role you will lead and oversee the service from a midwifery perspective to enhance the quality of patient care, experience, and outcomes, demonstrating leadership in the management of risk and achieve consistency in practice, high standards of care, and innovation.
