Ward B4 is a 24 bed ward within Medicine for Older People. We work closely with the Acute Stroke Ward and care for patients with complex needs and a variety of medical conditions.
We have a dedicated Multidisciplinary Team that is motivated and enthusiastic to provide safe effective and personal care for all our patients, their families and carers.
As a team we welcome and support new starters and learners and there are lots of opportunities for professional development.

The team strives to achieve continuing improvement and we would like band 5 Registered Nurses who are as equally keen to join us.
As a registered nurse working on the ward you will be allocated to care for patients with a variety of medical conditions.
You will assess patients individual needs, provide and implement an appropriate individualised care plan for each patient and evaluate effectiveness of care provided.
As a registered nurse you are required to work within NMC guidelines and code of practise and to adhere to all hospital policies.
You will be expected to contribute to the development of the team which will include supervision and training of junior staff and students.
We require a band 5 Registered Nurse who is keen to join our team. We will provide supervision and support. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate the principles of the 6cs and willingness to develop and learn new skills.

It is important you are made aware of the changes which East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust has implemented with regard to charging for the cost of undertaking Disclosure and Barring Scheme (DBS) Checks (previously known as Criminal Records Bureau or CRB) and how this may impact upon you.
As this position is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and involves work that is identified as a regulated activity as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006), any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.
The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £48.00, which includes a small handling fee.
In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary. By applying for this vacancy you are agreeing to this undertaking in the event you are successfully appointed.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
