The Lancashire & South Cumbria vaccination programme is now recruiting staff for the forthcoming Autumn booster programme. The Autumn booster programme requires more dedicated staff to join one of the most successful projects in NHS history. The delivery of the COVID-19 vaccines to millions of people across the country continues throughout the summer; with a significant booster programme planned to commence in September. Be part of a dedicated workforce that is helping keep the country safe and protecting thousands of people from serious illness.
Roles are initially offered on a short-term basis due to funding, however there is a good chance of extension of contracts for those who wish to remain on the programme for a longer period. Main duties of the job
We're looking for staff to join our vaccnations team now. You will be working at our mass vaccination sites as well as supporting outreach vaccination work within the community.
The outreach offers includes pop-up vaccination clinics, visits to Care Homes and housebound patients as well as other modes of delivery that are under development. This is an opportunity to work in collaboration with partners across the NHS and local authorities providing the largest vaccination service in living memory.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
We know our health care family have always gone above and beyond the call of duty, and we've seen that more than ever during the COVID crisis.
As a COVID-19 RHCP you will be responsible for:
- Conducting pre-vaccination clinical assessments.
- Reviewing patient medical histories and any potential adverse reactions.
- Preparing the vaccine prior to administration by using aseptic technique.
- Dilution and drawing up of the vaccine from multi-dose vials.
- Setting up the vaccination station.
- Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to policies and procedures.
Person specification
Matching Criteria
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level (level 5) in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
- Previous experience in similar clinical role
- Clear communicator with excellent oral, writing, and presentation skills.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
