Sister / Charge Nurse - Critical Care

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients. We employ more than 6,500 staff, have approximately 900 beds and have a planned turnover in excess of £410m for 2017/2018.

Band 7 Clinical Nurse - Critical Care Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Sister / Charge nurse to join the critical care team working within the Critical Care Services of Blackpool Victoria Hospital

We are looking for a highly motivated practitioner who is passionate about the care of patients to join our well-established critical care team, in delivering a 24/7 service. Applicants must have an understanding of the current health agenda and national guidance which informs critical care practice. Applicants will be expected to undertake internal rotation and weekend duties. You must have proven ICU experience which would include a successfully completed post registration course in Critical Care Nursing and Mentorship. You will also possess a high level of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in critical care nursing.

The Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency Unit are separate provide high quality care for patients with a wide variety of medical, surgical and obstetric conditions in a critical care environment. Our Critical Care team is very friendly, progressive and committed Unit. We support, autonomy and professional development and are highly valued by the Matron and Education and Practice Development Team. We work very closely with our team of Consultants and Advanced Critical Care Practitioners to actively promote joint decisions on progressing both patients care and critical care practice. As a highly visible clinical leader, you will champion our values , and you will be instrumental in building a team for the future. You will play a key role in the development and delivery of education and training for all levels of staff in the department.
