Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic team on the new Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), located within the Emergency Village. This is a purpose-built area set up to prevent unnecessary admissions and relieve the pressures of our busy Emergency Department. We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive role model to help provide a high standard of care on our busy SDEC unit.
You will be responsible for seeing and treating medical, surgical, gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology and ENT same day patients. Our aim will be to diagnose, treat and discharge our patients’ home on the same day with appropriate follow ups as required.
As a clinical Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the triage process where you would complete basic observations, risk assessments, full body maps, obtaining samples, IV Cannulation and blood sampling, transfer of patients and 12 Lead ECG recording. You will provide care and support for patients who are attending the unit.
You will need to be prepared to work flexibly to the needs of the service.
