Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to join the Chorley South Ribble Community Young People’s Mental Health (CYPMH) team as a Team Coordinator. Working to deliver Mental Health Care to the highest possible standard, applications are invited from experienced nurses to take on the challenging role of Team Leader.

We currently require a practitioner with previous experience at Band 6 who have recent, significant experience of working within a CYPMH team. All applicants must have an interest and skills in psychological approaches to working with clients and have a commitment to working collaboratively with clients who may present challenges for engagement.

Main duties of the job

To provide management and caseload supervision within a specified CYPMH and CPS (CAMHS) geographical team and across the CYPMH and CPS (CAMHS) service within a specialist role and according to specialist are of expertise.

To provide generic caseload and case specific supervision and assist with the development and maintenance of PDRs.

To act as specialist advisor within CYPMH and CPS (CAMHS) and to actively contribute to the Network governance arrangements when required and provide input into specialist projects as required within the network.

To ensure that the standard of performance and clinical practice are of the highest quality to ensure good quality outcomes for clients within the team.

To ensure that with others, arrangements are in place to contribute to the effective clinical and professional supervision of all staff in the team, including professional appraisal and the identification of CPD needs across the team.

To contribute to policy implementation and policy or service development, both within the service and the wider Network.

To keep up to date with CYPMH (CAMHS) research and clinical developments and utilise this knowledge in interpreting NHS policy and local priorities in order to promote evidence based practice across CYPMH (CAMHS) and contribute to the development of health care and social care that is of the greatest possible clinical and cost effectiveness for patients, carers and staff within the specialty of CYPMH (CAMHS).

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Mental Nurse or aligned profession e.g. OT/Social Worker
  • Professional Registration SWE; HCPC; NMC
  • Substantial experience of Practice / Service Development and clinical leadership in adult mental health care or CAMHS (currency within 12 months).

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of contemporary practice within CYPMH (CAMHS) services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of NHS change agendas and strategic service planning by the Department of Health.
  • Awareness of how CYPMH (CAMHS) and mental health services will develop locally and nationally over the next 2 – 3 years.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of managing within mental health services.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership skills, incorporating flexibility and the ability to influence others.
  • Experience in clinical supervision, caseload management, PDP cycles
