 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to join the established multi-disciplinary team on Marsden Rehabilitation Stroke Unit.

Are you passionate about Stroke Rehabilitation and helping patients to achieve their potential and improve their quality of life? If so, we are looking to appoint a motivated, compassionate and caring person to join our established unit.

We aim for all staff to feel valued and empowered to achieve a patient centred approach to stroke rehabilitation.

Sitting within the Directorate of Medicine for Older People, Marsden Rehabilitation Stroke Unit is a 24 bedded ward which specialises in Stroke Rehabilitation at Pendle Community Hospital. Pendle Community Hospital is a lovely Community Hospital sitting in a picturesque rural area of Lancashire. The hospital comprises 72 beds across 3 wards providing general and stroke rehabilitation.

On Marsden RSU  we have been awarded the SILVER award as we have achieved SPEC (Safe, Personal, Effective Care) status for 2 consecutive years and a further recent green NAPF  which is something we are incredibly proud of.

We have created a supportive environment in which to work and the organisation provides a wealth of support and training opportunities for staff.

Here at Marsden there is the potential to be part of the established team which continue to deliver outstanding care. This is a friendly, supportive, innovative medical and nursing team, whom are committed to providing and maintaining high standards of patient centred care.

We are looking to work with someone who is highly motivated, committed and a passionate individual to work within this excellent team. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, whilst being able to maintain outstanding standards of care and act as a positive role model at all times.

We are one of the most renowned Rehabilitation Hospitals in the area, working closely with service users, carers and partner organisations, which therefore provides us with the opportunity to make a real difference and improvement to our diverse range of services, from health and social care, alongside general and stroke rehabilitation.

We work closely with families with this goal in mind, or to support patients and their families to arrange safe discharge with care support, or to an appropriate care setting.

The Hospital also has the support of the local charity ‘Friends of Pendle Community Hospital’ that works hard raise funds to provide extra comforts for patients; and has recently been able to redevelop the rooftop and courtyard gardens which allowed some patients’ therapy sessions to be undertaken in a different setting.

The successful candidates will be registered with a General Nurse qualification and be on the NMC Register and will demonstrate the Trust’s values at all times ensuring the provision of quality nursing care. They must have the initiative to adapt to the changing demands of the service and be able to contribute to the development of service provision.

The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £48.00, which includes a small handling fee.

 

In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied.  Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.  By applying for this vacancy you are agreeing to this undertaking in the event you are successfully appointed.
