Neonatal Infant Feeding Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse

Band 6

Are you passionate about supporting neonatal families and colleagues with infant feeding? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced neonatal nurse to join the neonatal team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

We are looking for a motivated individual to support colleagues and families with all aspects of infant feeding and ensure UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative standards are implemented. The focus is to promote informed feeding choices and provide responsive family centred care.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, maternity services and external agencies where applicable to ensure pathways are in place to support families. Through education and clinical support, you will empower staff with the skills and knowledge to support infant feeding and parent-infant relationship building. Recognising the many benefits of breastfeeding, you will be required to develop systems and programmes to increase breastfeeding initiation and monitor ongoing breast feeding rates.
