Theatre Support Assistant
NHS AfC: Band 3
AI tools like chatbots and virtual assistants can support you as you complete your application. For example, they can check for spelling or grammar errors, or help you to decide what to include.
But they shouldn’t replace your own responses or be used to write the application for you.
Relying too much on AI can negatively impact your chances of success, because automatically generated answers:
- might not be specific or relevant enough to address the criteria in the recruitment profile
- often seem generic and not personalised enough – an AI response won’t show your unique voice and perspective
- could misrepresent information about you, such as your qualifications, skills and experience
We monitor applications for any behaviour that could create an unfair advantage, and we check all references carefully. You are likely to be tested on your experience at interview, so be honest and make sure all the information in your application is correct.
Job overview
Ever thought about working in an Operating Theatre?
We are looking to recruit Theatre Support Assistants across our 3 hospitals to become part of the theatre team. These are busy operating theatres covering multiple specialities.
Whilst theatre experience is not necessary, a current care certificate and care experience are essential. In addition to this, knowledge around the role and responsibilities would be beneficial. Training will be provided with a supernumerary period reinforced by ensuring each candidate has a mentor/supervisor whilst relevant care certificate is completed.
Once established within the role, structured education and training programmes supported by local education institutions to enhance career opportunities are available on application, with no financial costs to applicants who meet the desired criteria.
Evidence of a Care Certificate AND equivalent care experience is essential for this role.
Full time and part time positions will be considered. You will be required to be available fulltime for the training period.
Whilst flexible working is considered, successful candidates are expected to work a full rotation of 24/7 shift patterns.
Please ensure full 3 years reference details are added to your application to avoid recruitment delays.
